Forge World released their newest Realm of Battle board and it is pretty cool!

The Primus Redoubt is especially cool as it has a HUGE gun!  A Double Barrelled Turbo Laser Destructor, which is included.

    From Forge World:

Found on worlds across the Imperium since the days of the Great Crusade, the Primus Redoubt is one of a class of super-heavy emplacements built en-masse to defend the cities, foundries and other vital structures on newly Compliant worlds. Constructed with emplaced weaponry more often found on heavy void craft and battlecruisers, and powered by reactors buried deep beneath its visible structure, the Primus Redoubt is designed to eliminate vehicles at very long range, and has enough destructive force to take down super-heavy vehicles and even Titans. Its substantial walls are further protected by a projected force dome, shielding the redoubt from all but the heaviest of incoming fire and orbital bombardments.

The Realm of Battle Imperial Primus Redoubt consists of a 2' x 2' Realm of Battle tile that features a large bunker complex with multiple battlements and a double-barrelled turbo laser destructor turret. It is a fortification that can be taken by any Faction in Warhammer 40,000 and Horus Heresy games. Experimental rules for the Primus Redoubt can be found HERE.

This is a complete multi-part resin kit. It is available to pre-order today for despatch from Friday 10th April.

It goes perfectly with the Castellum Stronghold board.

    The It costs £125 or $ 186.50.

    I want one.

    More Mechanicum!
The goods keep coming for the followers of the Omnissiah.

    From Forge World:

The Thanatar-Calix class Siege-automata is a potent war machine and a wonder of the Mechanicum’s craft. Combining arcane and secret technologies, it carries a twin-linked mauler bolt cannon alongside a rare solex pattern heavy lascannon, whose beams of coherent light can reach far across a battlefield to lethal effect. The Thanatar-Calix's most destructive armament though is the graviton ram, a weapon whose origins are lost in the Dark Age of Technology. The ram's crushing waves of gravitational force can pulverise infantry and vehicles alike, and it can be utterly devastating at both range and close quarters.

The Thanatar frame, designed as a heavy weapons platform, is well armoured and further protected by atomantic shield generators, making it nearly impervious to all but the heaviest of weapons fire. Whilst it is slow to advance, the Thanatar-Calix’s durability allows it to close steadily on its target, moving ever nearer until its formidable weaponry can be brought into range.

The Thanatar-Calix may be taken in any Mechanicum army, including the Taghmata Omnissiah, Legio Cybernetica and Ordo Reductor army lists, in Horus Heresy games. Experimental rules for the Thanatar-Calix can be found HERE.

This is a complete, multi-part resin kit. It is available to pre-order today for despatch from Friday 17th April.

“There is no truth in flesh, only betrayal.
There is no strength in flesh, only weakness.
There is no constancy in flesh, only decay.
There is no certainty in flesh but death.”
    Credo Omnissiah

    It costs £70 or $ 102.50.

You can get it on the Forge World website here.
The full range of Mechanicum are here.

  • 05/01/15--08:18: Samus is Coming!

  • Samus is here!

“Samus. That's the only name you'll hear. Samus. It means the end and the death. Samus. I am Samus. Samus is all around you. Samus is the man beside you. Samus will gnaw on your bones. Look out! Samus is here.”

That's right, the Daemon we first learned of in the very first Horus Heresy novel is coming from Forge World!

A Daemon Prince of the Ruinstorm, spreading madness and slaughtering all before him in baleful frenzy, Samus is here! A hulking monstrosity, towering over mortals, Samus, a daemon of murder made manifest, was incarnated at the height of his powers as the walls between reality and the Warp were stretched thin by the Word Bearers’ dark rites at Calth. If his corporeal flesh was destroyed, he would soon return again to wreak havoc and claim more souls for the powers of Chaos, the sound of his name echoing through the Warp and in the minds of men.

Samus, Daemon Prince of the Ruinstorm is the latest model in the Horus Heresy Character Series. Presented in a collectors edition black box, Samus can be built with his right hand clutching a dismembered Space Marine or as an open claw. Samus can be used in Word Bearers Legion armies and Codex: Chaos Daemon armies in Horus Heresy games. He can also be used in Codex: Chaos Daemons and Khorne Daemonkin armies in standard games of Warhammer 40,000. Experimental rules can be downloaded HERE.

This is a complete, multi-part resin kit. It is available to pre-order today and will be despatched from Friday 8th May.

A great addition I think to the Horus Heresy Character Series.

  • 05/03/15--11:06: New Knight Warden and Codex!

    Knights have a big brother!

A new codex and the Knight Warden are coming!

Everything you need in order to build one Imperial Knight Warden is included in this box; one complete 147-component Imperial Knight kit and this seventy-four-component upgrade kit. It features three completely new faceplates, a new tilting plate/shield, a set of new Adeptus Mechanicus icons and a frankly insane amount of weaponry: a chest pintle Meltagun, a gatling cannon assembly (with heavy flamer), the infamous Reaper chainsword, a thunderstrike gauntlet, a thermal cannon and a rapid-fire battle cannon – on top of this there are carapace options including rocket pods, missile pods and an anti-air twin Icarus cannon.

This kit shares the impressive posing options with the standard Imperial Knight, with head, arm and waist joints, and can be built as a Knight Errant, Paladin, Warden, Gallant or Crusader – the weapons are all interchangeable and can be used with any other Imperial Knight models you might own.

In total, this multi-part plastic kit comes with 221 components and stands tall on a Citadel 170mm Oval Base.

This 120-page, full-colour hardback book contains:

Full rules for five Imperial Knights: Paladin and Errant are joined by three new types – Warden, Gallant and Crusader; Two unique Detachments – the Household Detachment (Primary Detachment of Imperial Knights) and the Oathsworn Detachment (an Allied Detachment of Imperial Knights);Extensive background material, colour schemes and heraldry for Imperial Knights from a number of different Knight worlds;A new system of ranking, with rules and bonuses available for using their formations and detachments;Five entirely new formations, allowing you to field efficient squadrons of Knights.

A set of six large-format cards detailing the Heirlooms of the Knightly Houses from Codex: Imperial Knights, collected together for easy reference. Also included are thirty-six Tactical Objective cards, including the six unique Tactical Objectives found in Codex: Imperial Knights.

    Baronial Court $471

Exhalted court of House Terryn $785

GW keeps pushing the big, expensive models, but the new lower codex price is welcome.

    New Solar Auxilia Command Squad!

Finally a great Forge World Command squad for the Horus Heresy Imperial forces!

    From Forge World:

The Lord Marshal of a Solar Auxilia battlegroup is the supreme commander of his forces. He may have the total respect of his men or be a despot of the highest order, but he will be a master strategist, fearsome duellist and an experienced frontline commander prepared to sacrifice his forces in defence of the Imperium.

Auxilia Tactical Command Sections facilitate the flow of orders from central command, directing the movement of thousands of men and vehicles, as well as coordinating devastating aerial and orbital strikes upon a foe. The Proclaimator’s communications equipment links the section to the battlegroup’s command and control structure, allowing the Strategos to issue orders efficiently and directly to the units under his purview. The Vexilarius carries the cohort’s standard, a great honour usually only bestowed upon a warrior who has performed an act of bravery or feat of arms, whilst the Veteran Auxilia defend the section itself from advancing enemy.

The Solar Auxilia Tactical Command comprises six models including a Lord Marshal armed with a paragon blade and archaeotech pistol, and a full Auxilia Tactical Command Section consisting of a Strategos, Proclaimator, Vexilarius, a Veteran Auxiliary with meltagun and Veteran Auxiliary with grenade launcher. Also included are optional helmeted and unhelmeted heads for both the Lord Marshal and Strategos.

The Lord Marshal and Auxilia Tactical Command Section can be fielded as two separate units in Solar Auxilia armies in Horus Heresy games. Their rules can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Four – Conquest.

You can buy it for a hefty £65 or $ 98 on the Forge World website.

Another Horus Heresy Anthology has been released.
This one puts together five short stories in one edition.

    From The Black Library:

Across the war-torn galaxy, those sworn to Horus’s cause shake the Imperium to its very foundations. Before the traitors’ relentless onslaught, the wisdom of ages past is lost and forgotten, daemons hide amongst the common people and the warp’s corrupting influence can be seen in almost every facet of the Heresy. For those who would become champions of the new order, there can surely be no redemption – only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods...

Blades of the Traitor brings you five epic, action-packed tales that drive the Horus Heresy forward. Discover what the Warmaster’s allies are up to as they prepare to march on Terra: sacrifices in the bowels of Molech’s Enlightenment, Legion Navigators delving through the very Eye of Terror and horrific experiments in dark, secret labs.

Contains the stories Daemonology by Chris Wraight, Black Oculus by John French, Chirurgeon by Nick Kyme, Twisted by Guy Haley and Wolf Mother by Graham McNeill.

You can buy it on The Black Library Website.

I really wish they had an index of everything so people could know where they kind find everything  I started buying the individual shorts as eBooks but have stopped as they are obviously repackaging everything.

There's a BFG video game coming!

    Here's the press release:

    via Focus Home Interactive

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, the famous tabletop game from Games Workshop adapted into a Real-Time-Strategy video game by Tindalos Interactive, unveils today its first video teaser.
The game stages the mighty armada of the Imperial Navy’s Battlefleet Gothic against the insidious and galaxy-threatening Chaos Black Crusade of Abaddon the Despoiler in dark, deadly and intense space battles from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This first video teaser is a prelude to intense space combat in command of huge battle cruisers – true metal behemoths – several kilometers long and armed to the teeth.

Developed on Unreal Engine 4, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is an RTS in which the player takes command of one of these battlefleets composed of the most powerful spaceships from the Imperial, Chaos, Eldar and Ork forces, in a no-quarter given struggle for the control of the Gothic sector of space.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada offers deep management of every ship composing the player’s fleet, both during and between battles. From the fastest frigates to the gigantic, miles-long battleships, the player will customize all aspects of his ships: weaponry, defense and support sub-systems, etc… each customization affecting the very performances of the ship and the special abilities available during battle. From battle to battle, the admirals and crew of surviving ships will gain experience and promotions, improving the battle-readiness of the ships for future, bigger and more dangerous battles.

We will unveil the game to the gaming press in more detail very soon; discover now the very first screenshots of the game, captured from a very early development version of the game.

I love BFg and have way too much stuff.  A video game?  I am too busy with Battlefield 4!  But you guys try it and report back!

More info from the Warhammer World Grand Re-opening.

    A few important tidbits:

From Relentless on Heresy 30K forums:

Had a good chat with Alan about the future and book 6. He said nothing is set in stone yet but they want to carry on the story of calth and he wants to look at all the splintered legions but is not 100% on exactly what will be in it.

We also discussed the white scars and his aim is to not Neserceily do a full version of all the legions, however he wants all legions to have some sort of upgrade kits so that people can field something that is representative and then come back to do full rules and models. Maybe even drop a few rules as they go but again not totally sure.

All in all he seemed really happy with how it's going and you can tell he is so passionate about it and loved sharing with us his thoughts on the heresy, a real top guy.

Also managed to chat with Simon regarding upcoming sculpts. He was saying how is planning to do Rogal Dorn in a similarly regal way as he has with Guiliman. He also confirmed that they will be doing the ascended primarch a down the line and said how he would love to be a part of that. Again, top guy who is super friendly and loves what he does.

I did ask about heresy making it into the mainstream shops but they said they had no idea as of yet.

From Mwnciboo on Heresy 30K forums:

at the weekender they talked about a big release, rather than a trickle for prospero because tony was afraid he'd get lynched by either 1k sons or sw players, so from that came the intention for a mass release, which means they need to start now, to bank the models or else all work for 6 months while nothing gets done. E.g Concurrent activity. So while 2/3 of the studio work on book 6 and small group will be doing book 7 stuff ready to get ahead of the curve.

No mention of BA in shadow crusade by Alan Bligh, at the weekender.

From Sircyn on Heresy 30K forums:
There was talk of the ordinantus getting a crew compartment like the Krios at the back and there being multiple weapon options for it! The larger tracks at the back are Krios scale, so it's big but not mammoth sand crawler from dune big.

Also, they're hoping to trickle down the concept and quality of the titan instruction manual to newer complicated models they think would benefit from it. They don't want another model to warrant an internet survivors club!

     Astartes Thunderfire Canon Rapier

Warlord Titan Foot - Great for scale because it's using Knight Shin Guard as like Ankle guards. 4 of them.

More coming from our intrepid crew of insanely devoted Forum-goers!
